Each button is pulled firmly into the padding, drawing the fabric into deep, sculpted folds that fall away from every point and shift as the light moves across the room. It’s the most three-dimensional finish we offer, and the most striking. The top opens smoothly on concealed hinges to reveal generous storage beneath, so the Blidworth does real work in a room as well as looking the part. You design every detail, from fabric to finish, making the Blidworth as unique as your home. Firstly, choose from a vast range of stunning, high-quality fabrics by some of the finest fabric houses. Then choose from an array of beautifully crafted wooden legs or feet. Finally, personalise the lower edge with your choice of decorative trim, such as piping or metal studs in a range of finishes including gold, chrome, copper, old gold and vintage.

Deep buttoning is the hardest thing we do. Every fold has to be set by hand and matched to the ones around it, and it takes years at the bench before an upholsterer can produce work of this standard consistently — which is why the Blidworth is made in our countryside workshop by the same hands and the same time-honoured methods our family has used for decades. The frame beneath is solid enough that in twenty or thirty years’ time it can be reupholstered rather than replaced, a cherished part of your home for generations.
